Dyker Heights, neighbored by Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, and Gravesend, features both two-family and standalone homes along with mid-rise apartment complexes. The Dyker Beach Park and Golf Course, a public park and 18-hole golf course, also features a recently renovated event space that is an ideal spot for a variety of occasions. However, Dyker Heights is also a tourist attraction when the holiday season comes around as many residents put on an incredible Christmas light and ornament display on their homes, bringing people by tour bus to see the decorated homes. There are several bus lines that service the area, however, most residents travel with a car.

Most well-known for their Christmas light display, this neighborhood is the place to be in December. A tradition that started in the 1980’s has grown into a massive display show where the most extravagant lights are shown from 11th Avenue to 13th Avenue and from 83rd to 86th Street.
