The Brooklyn Hospital Foundation’s Founders Ball is always notable for a strong turnout from the city’s real estate players, and the event’s 2015 edition on Thursday night was no exception. A packed house at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge paid tribute to this year’s honorees, including Acadia Realty Trust’s Christopher Conlon and Cushman & Wakefield’s Stephen Palmese, and showed their support for the Brooklyn Hospital Center’s new pediatric emergency department.

“We were delighted to see continued support from our entire industry,” TerraCRG founder and president Ofer Cohen, one of the event’s honorary chairs, told The Real Deal. “I joined the [Brooklyn Hospital Foundation] board to help connect the hospital, situated in the heart of Fort Greene, with the real estate community and the developers that are transforming the landscape around the hospital.”

“Strong health care infrastructure is part of the foundation we need in Brooklyn,” Cohen added, noting that 30,000 new residents are expected to move into the hospital’s immediate surrounding area in the next two years.
